Good morning, Readers!

Well, today was supposed to be the week that I go all five days to the gym in the morning.  In a twist of fate that now has be believing that the universe wants me chubby forever, I am suffering with a really, really, really sore throat.

And a slight fever.  Not as bad as when I had the flu last week, but slight.

So, I decided that I should probably not get out of bed when my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning.  I was quite awake and quite rested.  I went to bed super early and had enough sleep.  However, I couldn't swallow without wanting to cry.

No gym for me this morning.  I'm upset, but not all that mad about it.  Part of this journey is learning to take care of myself, and not work myself to the point of exhaustion.  It's a problem I have; nothing I do is ever good enough for me.  As a result, I tend to ignore my health in an effort to be good enough.

I promised myself I'd stop doing that this year.  So I'm trying not to get mad at myself for things like skipping the gym if I have a swollen throat and a fever.

Tomorrow is the first day back at training.  I used to train Monday through to Thursday night.  I've decided to scale it back to just Tuesday and Thursday nights.  There are a number of reasons for that, foremost amongst them the need to spend more time with myself and give myself more time for doing the work that I need doing.

Also, it frees up some time for me to have fun.  I live stream Monday nights now from around 7pm until around 9pm.  I would like to keep doing that.  It's fun for me.  And yes, I will be streaming tonight, sore throat or not.  If my throat is still bothersome, I'll be playing with a glass of whiskey beside me.  That should make things really interesting.

This weekend was a good one, Sunday, particularly.  My kung fu brother Jon came over and we gamed some, recording three episodes of CoOpted.  It was great to see him again.  He's such a lovely guy.  Then I went grocery shopping Sunday and did a whole bunch of food prep for the week.

I burnt myself four times and managed to give myself a paper cut during the process, which I shall call an ordeal.  It was during this four hour long chore that I developed the first symptoms of a sore throat, incidentally.  But at least all of my meals for the week have been cooked and packed and are in the fridge waiting to be eaten.  I'm proud of what I managed to cook, too.  It's a varied set of lunches, even, not just all lunches being the same thing.  Today, I shall be eating roast lamb chop, rosemary sweet potato, and spiced greens.  Tomorrow will be chicken coconut curry and rice.  And so on.

I'm not a domestic sort of person. I should really fix that.

*shrugs*

In happier news, as I was writing this blog post, someone posted this on my wall:
I totally loved Sky Road Walker. You're such a brilliant writer. I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!
Full disclosure, I know this person and would consider myself a friend if not friendly acquaintance.  She's a brilliant writer herself and a great deal of fun to be around.

Anyway, It was a wonderful thing to read almost first thing this morning.  I'm currently very slowly making my way through her book, incidentally, and I've laughed out  loud several times in the small number of pages I've read.  If you can, do pick up a copy of Life in the 'Cosm.  You won't regret it.

And now I must go and continue to write.  Have a good day everyone!

Ciao!
