I'm a firm believer that health starts with food. I don't eat unhealthily, really, though I was much less careful over the winter than I should have been.
Anyway, so I've cut out bread again, and am trying hard to curb my intake of refined sugars (sugars from the fruit I eat are fine), and I've been tracking my exercise and food via myfitnesspal.com. Ugh. What a pain in the arse. Not going to lie. It's really dumb, boring stuff entering your food into a programme.
On the bright side, it is making me more aware of what I'm eating. It's also making me raise my eyebrows, because holy shit do I have to eat a shit tonne of food on the days I'm working out.
Here's the deal, I need to eat about 1200 calories a day in order to lose weight healthily (I aimed for 2lbs a week on the programme options, which is actually towards the more extreme side of healthy when it comes to weight loss). That's 1200 calories just to function... so this is the energy I need to eat, breathe, sleep, etc at a very basic level. If I do anything over the top of just living, the calories expended need to be replaced.
That means on the days where I'm training, I need to eat over 3000 calories.
For the record, that's a fuck tonne of food. And I've been trying. I really have! But short of resorting to really unhealthy shit, I'm struggling SO HARD to make up the calorie deficit. I am, on average, 1500 calories under on the days that I train. That's a day's worth of food that I need to eat in addition to the day's worth of food I have already eaten.
Who the hell can eat that much? That's a lot of food!
Anyway, that's just me complaining. I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the amount food that I'm supposed to be eating. How does anyone eat that much?
Of course I'm not too worried about it. I eat and I eat healthily. It's all I really can do, right?
Anywho, I have work to do. Must go!
Ciao!
