I accomplished absolutely nothing those four days, but I do feel much recharged and refreshed.
I mean, I really did accomplish nothing. I managed to finish my second play-through of The Last of Us, and get my dad hooked on Firefly (I had bought him the boxed set years and years ago, but he never watched it.... until this weekend, when we watched the first two/three episodes (Serenity aired in two parts during the series run, but was presented together on the DVDs. That would be the Serenity episode, not film). I also binged Firefly myself after finishing my gaming stuff, because I needed cheering up, and a snarky ship's captain cheers me up.
And that's literally all I did. That's it.
Oh, I did have weird dreams last night. It went something like this:
My twin and I were in high school/university. My twin was, incidentally, performing far better than I, in the academic sense. Anyway, there's an unknown force that is kidnapping people, working them to death so that they can send their souls off to... I don't know. Be devoured?
Anyway, kidnapped people, or their souls (I couldn't tell, because I was in a corporeal form, but there were people there that were at least a couple of hundred years old), are taken on this weird ship that is somewhere between a tall ship, a blimp, and a submarine. Anyway, the way to avoid being snatched from there is to continue to be creative (I chose to draw). I snuck on this thing, by the by, because my twin got snatched and I was trying to rescue her.
That's all I remember of that dream. It was weird.
But other than my brain working overtime, I achieved nothing over the weekend.
Lots of things happened while I was hiding from the world, though. My first Beta Reader has returned Soldier with notes. There are, apparently, a lot of notes and complaints, which doesn't surprise me. I wasn't happy with the manuscript, and I'm expecting a barrage of comments. It's all for the greater good. I want this manuscript to be as good as it can be, and I know it wasn't great when I sent it off.
I will be abandoning Outworlder (title to change) while I work on Soldier, and will return to it once I've finished editing the manuscript and sent it off to Beta Reader two. I'm almost finished Outworlder (title to change), and I'm not nearly as worried about it as I am Soldier.
Similarly, I'm very late for my eNewsletters, and need to get those done ASAP. That's first on my list. I have two to write. Man, I need a personal assistant to whip me into shape and keep me on top of everything. I need more money. And more time.
Anyway, I have a full plate after a nice pause in which I had only one story to work on. Now I am rushing around like a madwoman, hoping to get my projects finished in good time.
When it rains, it pours.
And now I must dash.
Ciao!
