Your Very Own Adventure - The Conclusion

You close the tome one last time.  In the vellum pages of the leather bound book are the words of your life, beginning from the moment you awoke in the grasslands, the last sliver of goodness the Mage King possessed finding refuge in the body of a recently dead traveller so that it might thwart the evil that escaped the captivity of the Lord Seeker.

Looking out the window you smile.  Martel's two daughters are playing in the courtyard with sticks, testing their swordplay against one another, laughing.

"It's finished, then?" the Lord Seeker asks from the entrance to the study.  He has lost none of his youthful strength, though you are now old and grey.

"It is," you reply.  "Took me long enough."

The Lord Seeker smiles and places a hand on your shoulder.  He looks out at the two girls.  An imp chatters on his shoulder, the bug-eyed creature waving its hands animatedly.

"Hush," the Lord Seeker chides gently.  The imp shuts its mouth and crosses its arms across its chest.

"Martel has summoned us all to lunch on the green.  Will you come?"

"I suppose."

"Good.  The court mage needs to make an appearance every so often."

You grunt.  Taking up the cane that leans against your chair you struggle to your feet.  Smiling, you look back at the book you have just finished.

"It was quite an adventure, wasn't it," you say fondly.

"And adventure, was it?" the Lord Seeker answers.  "Old age has made you sentimental.  It was hellish."

You laugh and, old age aching in your bones, you shuffle to the green on the grounds of the palace to dine with your emperor.

a) You snort derisively and let Martel handle the rest. He is the emperor after all.
b) Stick your tongue out. It's childish but strangely satisfying.
c) Take up your staff and strike him. If there is to be a fight, you'd rather get it started than wait.

One of these actions will give you a giant clue as to your identity.  Vote! Share! Good luck!

a) You will be in the ranks of the army as they face the Mage King.  If you have a part to play in the battle, you will play it.
b) You will wait amongst the mounds. You're not sure what you're supposed to do, and the Mage King's effects on you may make you more of a hindrance than help.
c) Run away. Look, you're going to collapse in a heap the moment the Mage King arrives. And you're only supposed to be an advantage. All things being fair, Martel has what he needs to win the day already.

a) At the beginning of battle.  He's fought the Mage King before.  Surely the king of the wood wights would see his early intervention would save hundreds of lives?  Surely that is a great need?
b) After the battle has begun.  No doubt the army would be hard pressed, and the appearance of the wood wights would surely take the Mage King by surprise.
c) Not unless Martel's life was threatened and there was no other option.  The wood wights belong to the realm of shadows, and they don't see things they way you might.

Now we're talking battle strategy.  Which would you select?  Chose wisely, or it might well be the end of you in that battle.

a) Have Hessa send him to the Tuatha.  They'll be able to keep him until the battle is over and you can decide what to do with him.
b) Bring him to the battle site.  It would humble him greatly to see his half-brother lead successfully against the Mage King, and we can all keep an eye on him.
c) Leave him here.  Even if someone in the guard is foolish enough to free him, Martel has enough support from the people to mitigate the need to lay siege to the city.

a) Sir Hugh.  Walls are tough to take down. There is potential to break the army against them.
b) The Lord Seeker.  Favourable terrain and a rested army.  It will give us the best chance.
c) Hessa.  You have the Tuatha, let's use them to their full advantage.
