Good morning, Readers!
I’m writing this on Sunday, since I don’t have as much time during the week to write as I used to, so I have to write and schedule all my posts in advance. Sunday is pretty much the only time I have for it. So… what I’m hoping in this post may not come to pass. But I’m going to try and make it happen.
You already know that I’ve been struggling to find a time to write, and that I had attempted to get up early in the morning to write for a hour before I get ready for work. You also already know that that hasn’t been working. I’ve needed the sleep, and so haven’t been able to train myself to wake up early.
I’ve already written in the exclusive blog post about my plan to head directly to a library near me immediately after work to write for an hour. I’m going to be packing my dinner - a boiled egg or two, some protein shake, and some fruit for desert. I’ll eat it either before or after I’m in the library. Not sure. 6pm is about my usual dinner time, so probably after.
This won’t be every evening, obviously. I have other commitments (training, occasional D&D games, etc). But some evenings are way better than no mornings.
The hope is that I’ll be able to plug away at all the things that need to get done so I’ll actually be able to call myself a writer.
There are a fair few items on the list that need doing. Here’s what I hope to achieve before the end of the year:
- Catch up on the free D&D session recaps that subscribers are getting (Letters to Home)
- Write up the extras that will be appearing in the subscriber-only special edition of The Timbercreek Incident.
- Plan and script some YouTube videos so I can record and edit them later.
- Finish The Bear, the next story that will be serialised for my Ko-Fi subscribers and later be published, like The Timbercreek Incident.
That should take me the rest of the year, depending on how fast I can type. If I can, I’ll also be completing the researching I have been sporadically doing trying to find the best items I can to include in the book box I’m planning for the release of the special edition of The Timbercreek Incident. I really need to get on that.
I’m currently looking for mugs that are reasonably priced and don’t have a minimum order quantity. We’ll see how this goes.
Now, my blog posts are scheduled for release Tuesdays for subscribers, Wednesdays for everyone else, so if I managed to get my act together, I was able to head in yesterday evening when the subscribers are reading this.
They say it takes a month to create a new habit, and just a day to break it, so hopefully I’ll be able to create this new habit, and then build upon it (like, I’m planing on adding a return to run training or a visit to the gym (when it gets too cold to be out running)).
But first, I have to get myself back to writing. I have to snatch moments for it when I can, and if I cannot snatch those moments, I have to carve them out of the hard, grey stone of the day. So that’s what I’m going to attempt to do.
Wish me luck!
Slán go foill!
