Good morning, Readers!
Well, I have a tale for you today. I was supposed to be starting a new routine Monday morning… But wait. Let me start at the very beginning…
Wednesday morning of last week, I woke up with some terrible neck pain. Somehow in the night, I managed to put my neck out, resulting in a lot of pain on my left side. I was unable to turn my head for a long while. When I finally could turn my head, if I happened to swallow while my head was turned, it hurt like hell. This lasted all the way into Sunday night.
I woke up Monday morning with it miraculously having cured itself. Thank goodness, because though I pretended to be functional those four days (save Sunday. Sunday I languished in misery, trying hard to bring the resulting headache under control), I was in absolute agony the whole time.
But though Monday morning brought relief from one kind of pain, another was just beginning. You see, I had resolved to start going to bed earlier so I could wake up early and get an hour of writing in before the work day began. I was quite fed up with only having fifteen or so minutes to write in my day - those fifteen minutes being my lunch hour, when I’m done eating. By the end of my work day, having to be “on” the whole day dealing with clients, coworkers and suppliers, I’m usually too exhausted to do anything much at all.
So, I figured the mornings before work were the way to go. And I still think it’s a good idea.
Unfortunately, my charging cable for my phone had decided to cease functioning some time in the night. And so the alarm did not go off at all. I slept in. A lot.
Despite having gone to bed a full hour and half before my usual time (and falling asleep soon after, thank goodness for painkillers), I didn’t actually wake up until the exact time I need to be out of the house if I don’t want to be too late to work.
Damn everything.
So I didn’t get any writing done. I’m very, very annoyed.
That wasn’t the end of my Monday woes, alas. The walk to work was treacherous indeed. I fell twice. While I remain thankfully uninjured this time, my breakfast could not say the same. The cute little glass container that had my overnight oats in it shattered, spilling yogurt everywhere in my bag.
All in all, Monday was a terrible day for new beginnings. I will try again Tuesday morning (it’s Monday evening as of my writing this). But Tuesdays I will be up later as that is my training time, so I won’t be home until quite a bit later.
Overly dramatic sigh
I really did want to start making headway with my projects this week. I really wanted to start off strong. I really wanted to feel like I wasn’t floundering.
The universe had other ideas, I guess.
That’s alright. I’ll try again. Maybe it’ll happen.
I need to get a new charger…
Right, I have a bunch of nonsense to catch up on.
Slán go foill!
