Buying Canadian - No Pong

Good morning, Readers!

Today I’m going to do a product review, for two reasons. The first, I tried it in my never-ending quest to replace as much of my stuff with Canadian made as possible given the state of the States.

In my quest to try and replace harsh chemicals (not all… literally everything is chemicals) and heavy metals in my deodorants, I previously bought and used Tom’s of Maine aluminium free deodorant. It never really lasted the whole day, but it was good enough to get me through the work day. Well, I obviously can’t use Tom’s of Maine anymore (sorry Tom’s of Maine. It’s not personal. Except it sort of is). So I was on the hunt for a new deodorant.

I did a bit of research and came across No Pong. It’s Canadian made, and was started by a Canadian and Australian in partnership. Hey, me too. Figuring it had to work at least as well as the one I was using previously, I decided to give it a go and see if it would hold up.

I was incredibly sceptical, not least of all because the one I got (original) smelled exactly like a different brand I once used that did not work AT all. And, I am genuinely surprised.

It works. Not perfectly, mind. It was a very warm couple of days last week, and Wednesday night there was a bit of a smell… but it wasn’t a stink, if that makes sense, and it wasn’t extremely faint. I would have to reapply in the evenings before I head off to training after work, but I was really impressed. In the more normal, not heatwave weather, it held up superbly. Much better than Tom’s of Maine.

Sorry, Tom’s of Maine

I promise this isn’t sponsored. I was really just super surprised at how well it worked, and so I figured I’d talk about it in case there are fellow Canadians who are looking for alternatives.

I do recommend No Pong, if you’re looking for a Canadian-made deodorant that does appear to work really well. You can check out their stuff here.

Do keep in mind that it’s sold by the tin, which means in order to apply it, you have to rub it in with your hands, but that’s nothing. And you don’t need a huge amount. I fully expect my tin to last a while.

Right, I have to get back to work. They’re fixing the air conditioning today. Thank the gods. I am dying in the office.

Slán go foill!

Also double-hurrah for the air conditioning getting fixed! May you be cool and comfortable soon.

It's really the air conditioning making all the difference. Particularly today, which is obnoxiously hot outside.
And I was really surprised by the deodorant. Impressed, even.
