b) Explore the palace on your own a bit. Perhaps there's something here that might be useful.
c) Accompany the Lord Seeker instead. You might find some information you need in the library.

B, explore the palace. It would be good to have a feel for the palace during the events to come, as well as it would allow an opportunity to observe the palace denizens to guage their reactions to the change of circumstances (of course a bit of disguise would be better for this...)
