As I settled in to write, I got hit by a sudden fever, which developed into a fever and a painful cough. Yay. Still, I was determined to write despite it (taking cue from Chuck Wendig's recent blog post. Sure, he was talking about writing depite other things than a sudden illness, but I thought I'd carry over the sentiment). I started writing and didn't get 100 words in when other work crossed my desk and I had to abandon writing until after the job was done.
Alas, due to whatever hell my body was determined to put me through yesterday afternoon, by the time I finished the other job, I only had an hour left and absolutely no energy.
Needless to say, I didn't reach my daily writing goal. I barely even scratched it.
My write despite failed.
Le sigh.
Still, I can't be too hard on myself. I did what I could yesterday, and while it wasn't a lot, it'll have to be enough. The problem, of course, is that I have to write 4 000 words today if I want to make the weekly goal. I don't think I'll be able to make it.
I'll try, though. Whatever I don't get done this week I'll try and make up next week and so on until I'm all caught up and back on schedule.
That's all I can do.
I'm still unwell, still feeling like I don't have the energy to write. But I'm going to try anyway. I shall write despite.
Assuming I don't fall asleep on the keyboard!
Ciao!
