So this morning, I entered two competitions. One is the cineplex.com competition associated with the film Cinderella, coming out soon. That one is to win a trip to London. I have already been to London, and I really enjoyed it. It's one of the few large cities I feel I could live in.
The other was to win a seven day cruise along the northern coast of Norway. That looks spectacular, by the by.
I never win anything, so I doubt I'll get either of these chances. Still, wish me luck!
I started thinking about all the travelling I want to do, but have been unable because, well, I've been dirt poor. Thanks student loans. And thanks to my former employer who screwed me over with 8 bounced pay cheques. Screw you right in the ear. I want to travel. A lot.
The problem is, of course, funds. I don't have any. At all. Being poor sucks balls. There are so many places I want to see! I feel like I'll have to win the lottery to get there, though.
First on my dream list is Wales. I've never been, and I've been studying the country for ages (granted not the modern country, but still). I'm learning the language (not very well, I might add... the mistakes I've made!) and it looks like an amazingly beautiful place. I have Welsh friends, so could ask them where the best places to visit would be. Anglesey is definitely on the list.
Alas, the price of the airfare alone is roughly $1 400.00. That will require a great deal of saving: just for the flight. This is not including accommodation or food.
*Dramatic sigh*
There are so many other places in the world I would love to see, so many places I would love to visit. The short list includes: Iceland, Norway, Petra (Jordan), New Zealand, Botswana, Ecuador, Thailand, Taiwan, Mongolia, Nepal, Scotland, Ireland...
Yeah... that's the short list.
That's the problem with big dreams. If you can't find a way to make them happen, you pine away thinking of them. So now I'm not going to think of them. I'm going to go and do other things so I won't think about all the places I will never see.
*Dramatic sigh no. two*
Ciao!
