Back, and Already Flat Out

Good morn...uh... afternoon, Readers!

I am back!  Back at work.  Back to a regular routine.  Back to the usual.  I hope you've all been happy over the holidays, and that life returning to normal is a life returning to an improved normal.

My improved normal, which I hope to make a habit of, is to wake up earlier in the day, make myself a cup of tea, and practice my guitar before getting ready for work.  I did it this morning, and it was genuinely a really pleasant way to start the day.

I'm quite late posting this blog post, I know.  In my defence, I have been away from life for two whole weeks, and have a good deal of catching up to do this week to get myself back on schedule.  There's so much to do.

First, Chalgyr - the site I review games on - has moved their website to Wordpress.  This helps streamline the posting process immensely.  Now I can write and format the post and just save it for the editors to have a look at it and make sure everything is tickity-boo before they schedule it to publish.  It's great, but quite different from the portal Black Gate Magazine - the eZine I blog for fortnightly - uses.  It's a bit of a learning curve for me.  Still, the review for Far Cry Primal has been written and formatted as of this morning, and should be going live sometime next week.  That's why I didn't blog here until now.  I was doing the Chalgyr thing all morning.

The return to my usual schedule also means a return to the gym during lunch hour.  I went today, for the first time since the new year.  I was not looking forward to be honest.  It's not like I dislike my gym visits, really.  I'm not overly fond of them, but I do enjoy getting out of the office for a bit, and the hot shower afterwards is always welcome.  I am also, stupidly, psychotically happy to be lifting again.  I enjoy feeling strong, and the challenge of working towards physical goals is good for me.  It's particularly good for my mental health, which I noticed was in decline over the holidays.  I am late writing this blog post because i was doing the Chalgyr stuff and then went to the gym.  Incidentally, I didn't gain as much weight over the holidays as I expected I did, so I'm not facing as much of a challenge for this year as I thought.

Surprisingly, they gym was almost empty.  I would have thought, given the usual new years resolutions that the place would be packed.  It most certainly was not.  Weird.

Next on my list for today, is resuming my quest to find representation.  I'm off to query another five agents to see if any of them want Outworlder.  That's going to take a while today, and I'm a bit nervous that I won't have time for the last thing on my list.

Which is, of course, writing a blog post for the afore-mentioned Black Gate Magazine.  I have thoughts, people.  Thoughts!  Hopefully, I actually will have time for it, as I also have another thing I need to do today.

That thing is my daily French lesson on Duolingo.  I've left off over the holidays, and need to get back to it quick smart.

Right, I have a lot to be getting on with.  I will leave you all here.  I am glad to be back and establishing a routine again.

Ciao!
