Happy Labour Day!

Good morning, Readers!

Today is Labour Day here in Canada, so I'm not at work or going to work, or even thinking about work at the moment.  It's also hot.  Currently as of writing this, at 9:00am, it's 22 degrees Celsius, with 88% humidity.  It's supposed to go up to 32 today. I am not impressed.

Also supposed to happen today, though, is rain.  And that is more impressive.  I hope it does.  I'm looking for a break from this humidity!

I ran for the first time since taking a break from training last month this morning.  I say ran... the treadmills in the gym here at the new place were busted, so I used the elliptical machine.  I did fairly well, I think.  I sweated a lot.  An unusual amount.  I think it's due to the fact that the room was quite hot, and the weather was quite muggy.  Still, I haven't sweat like that in... ever, really.  On the bright side, I lasted the full half hour and didn't slow or take a break.  So there's that.  My cardio, at least, is still in pretty good shape.

I'm dreading trying weights again after all this time!  Oh well!

Now I am hungry and I need to eat. Enjoy the holiday everyone!

Ciao!

Embarrassing Crushes, Part Four

Hey! I'm in the process of moving house!  For two weeks, you'll be subject to pre-written and scheduled posts.  They're likely to be short, as I'm pressed for time writing two weeks worth of blog posts out.  Please forgive me! I promise I still love you.

The last of my embarrassing video game crushes belongs to this guy:

Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher Series

I know, I know, he's super old, witchers ageing more slowly compare to normal human folk.  Don't care.  Still would.

Wouldn't you?

Yes, he's got that whole 'guy in armour' thing going for him (incidentally, I want a set of armour like that!).  Also, golden eyes.  I'm a fan of that eye colour (and had long ago written a character with that exact eye colour).  Also scars, which I dig, as you've discovered.

The only thing I dislike is the voice actor's "Batman Voice" voice.  I don't know why they decide to do this, but just because a man's led a hard life doesn't mean he needs to sound like he's just polished of a fifth of scotch, okay?

Still, this guy...

He slays monsters, people.  How sexy is that?

I don't have that much to say about him, since I've only just discovered that The Witcher series is a thing, and have just started watching let's plays of the third game (loving it so far).  Still, his appearance is striking, and if I happened across this man and his hilariously brave horse on a chilly autumn night, I would invite him in for tea.

Just tea, guys.  Just tea.

...

Sorry... what?

Anyway, with little else to say, I shall turn it over to you.  Agree?  Disagree?  Which four would you have chosen?  Leave your opinions below!

Embarrassing Crushes, Part Three

Good morning, Readers!

Here is the second last blog post of the pre-scheduled set.  Today's video game crush is:

Commander Sheppard, Mass Effect Triliogy

You had to know this one was coming, right?

Commander Shepard is a highly customisable character, but his out of the box incarnation is out of this world.  I mean... look at him.

Yes.  Would.

I mean... come on! This guy is hawt AF!

What I like best about this character is that he can be basically any which way you play him.  I like the Commander Shepards that are a mix of sass, blunt honesty, willingness to break the rules and basic goodness.  The guy who would kill for his friends, but doesn't much care for the rules - good, but not a goody-two-shoes, if you follow.

Like Argis before him, I like to think of Shepard as bisexual, and he is, depending on how you play him.  He'll go for either gender.  Which one is up to you.  I'm not going to lie, the love scene with him and Kaidan is really one of my favourite cutscenes in the whole trilogy:
Also, can I tell you that while I do not love the voice acting overmuch, I adore the voice.  I would happily fall asleep to that every night!

So, unsurprisingly, Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect trilogy is today's video game crush.

Good morning, Readers!

So, continuing on from yesterday, here's today's video game crush:

Argis the Bulwark, Skyrim

Okay, my obsession with Skyrim knows no bounds.

BUT LOOK AT HIM!

This warrants a second image:

This half-blind Nord is a powerful warrior and a dashing bisexual with a voice like velvet chocolate.

*mind drifts*

Ahem... Sorry what?  Uh... where was I?

Anyway, I note the bisexuality thing here, because I'm fairly certain he is a character that is open to marriage no matter the gender you're playing - correct me if I'm wrong, fellow players!  To be honest, I quite like that quality about him.  I also quite like his scars.  Even his gammy eye.  It means he's come through some shit.

He also has a bit of a temper, and doesn't often do as he's told.  He will not, for example, stay put if you're in danger, even if you make it a command.  Nope, the valiant idiot will unsheathe his weapon and go charging heedless into battle...

... Swoon!

Also, annoying.  GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU GORGEOUS FOOL I ALMOST HIT YOU WITH A FIREBALL!  THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE A GAMMY EYE!

There isn't really any depth in the Skyrim NPCs as there is with Joel from The Last of Us, but that's okay.  I don't need a lot of depth to justify this one.  In my head, he's a brave and violent warrior, but a very tender lover and attentive father.

And I'm a sucker for a man in armour.

*mind wanders*

So...  This half-blind Nord Housecarl is today's (embarrassing) video game crush.
