Good morning, Readers!

Okay, so today was the day I was supposed to tell you all about the Ottawa Spartan Race.  But I only had four hours of sleep last night and I'm absolutely wiped.  I can't form complete thoughts about the race in my present state.

Why was I up so late, you ask?  Well, that's a great question.  I was busy setting up the store through which I am selling all my new merchandise.  What merchandise?  Well...  If you hover your cursor over the "Store" in the navigation bar of this website, you will see a drop down list of all the stuff that is currently available.  Go on.  Try it.

Yup.  All that stuff.

The first two on that drop down list - the books and the original art are through my store here on this website.

Everything else takes you through to redbubble.com, where you can purchase stuff with my art on it.  I was alerted to redbubble by a friend... The same friend, in fact, who did up the book cover for Human.  I'm now following her on redbubble, and you should too!  Click HERE to do that.  Redbubble is a great site, actually.  You just upload your image, and they put it on all this stuff for you.  You sell via their store.  They take care of the production and shipping, and you get paid a percentage.  It's actually really awesome.

So, yeah.  I spent last night working on uploading the artwork I currently have on file and making it available in a wide range of products.

To be perfectly honest, I'm really not sure that I'll sell anything from there, but I figured I may as well make it available as not, right?  The next set of merchandise I plan on making available will be from Human.  I'm thinking that stuff will look really cool!

I also have other art planned, so this will help prompt me to get it done... you know, when I can buy the canvases and paint etc with which to do it.... and then I need to take really high quality photos...  You know the drill.

Anyway, I just wanted to show that off.  Go explore all the cool stuff this site sells!

I'm going to explore the Welsh language.  Or something.

Ciao!

Cover Reveal!

Good morning, Readers!

Well, I finally can reveal to those of you not on my eNewsletter mailing list the book cover for Human.  I'm really proud of this one (even though I wasn't actually the one who made it).  I just think it suits the story perfectly.  Ready to see?  Okay!  Here you go:

ER MAH GERD IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

Ahem.

So... what do you think?  Does this capture your imaginations?  Would you pick this book up off a shelf?  C'mon, we all know that book buyers definitely judge a book by it's cover.  I want to know.  How do you judge this one?

I want to thank the wonderful Lindsay Coderre, who made this cover for me.  She's awesome sauce!  She actually does a lot of designing stuff other than this book cover.  You should really check out her website.  You can do that HERE.

I have even more good news for Human!

It is now available for pre-order!

There are some caveats.  Amazon's KDP won't let me upload a book for pre-order just yet.  It has a maximum of 90 days before the publication date.  So, if you are a Kindle user that only buys from Amazon, mark your calendars for August 3rd.  That's when I expect the pre-order to go live.

You can skip the list I'm about to give you and go HERE for all your purchase options, or you can just read on.

To Pre-Order the Paperback

Alas, Createspace hasn't created a pre-order option for its paperback books, so you won't be able to pre-order the paperback anywhere but my website for now.

All pre-orders will be sent out on Hallowe'en or immediately afterwards.

To Pre-Order the eBook

There are many options here.  If you want the book available to you in a variety of formats, click HERE to go to Smashwords.com to pre-order the eBook.

Kobo users can click HERE to get it from the Kobo store or HERE if they prefer to purchase through Chapters Indigo.

For those of you using the Nook, you can buy from Barnes and Noble HERE.

I will let you know the minute the Kindle pre-order goes live, I promise.

Right, that's everything I wanted to say.  I will give you all a run down of my weekend shenanigans tomorrow.  I'm off to add my new book cover to all the social medias!

Ciao!

Busy and Broke

This is a pretty good representation of how I feel at present.

There is a lot of stuff I need to get done today, almost all of it related to Human.  For starters, I have to start the pre-order process.  The eBook versions should be available for pre-order soon, with the paperback pre-orders opening up early next week.  I hope.  It depends how much I get done this week.

I'm also flat broke.  As in, not a penny to my name.  This is awkward, since I have no food in my fridge at all, and pay day is still a fortnight away.  When I joked about being a starving artist, I didn't think it would be quite so literal.

On the bright side, I have Vegemite and bread enough to last me until pay.  I think.  Probably.  Meh.  I'll make it.

So, yeah.  I've been pretty stressed.  I spent a good portion of yesterday in bed staring blankly up at the ceiling, and, I'll admit, I cried a little bit too.  It's tough sometimes, trying to make it.

I just have to trust that it will all be worth it in the end.  It'll all pay off.  One day.

Until then, there is plenty of work to get done, so I won't be thinking too much about much else.

Now that the pity party is done, I'm running the Spartan Race in Ottawa on Sunday. Wish me luck!  I'm scared.

Okay, I haven't much else of note to say.  Hopefully everything will be done on schedule by Monday, and I'll be able to open the pre-orders.  For those of you not on my eNewsletter mailing list, Monday will also be the cover reveal.  The image will be going up on all platforms Monday.

Right, I have to go and do work.

Ciao!

Today Canada turns 148 today.  It is a beautiful country and I do love it.

We're struggling a bit under our current prime minister, but hopefully he'll be gone in October, and Canada will return to being the beautiful, tolerant, sane country I fell in love with.

Wow.  That was a downer.  Honestly, Canada is awesome!  As is tradition, I'm posting a hilarious music video by and awesome Canadian YouTuber for your viewing pleasure.

Then I'm going to celebrate Canada Day by crawling back into bed and resting.  I'm feeling pretty darn tired!
Whether you're braving the crowds on Parliament Hill, or heading out to the cottage, or simply spending the day quietly away from crowds and with a good book, I hope you have a fantastic day.

Ciao!
