Alas, it was not to be.
The morning went very well. I saw Jen and Eric in the morning, the wonderful folk behind JenEric Designs, and good friends of mine. Eric is helping me record my first ever audiobook (The Dying God & Other Stories) which we generally record before each filming session for Nights at the Round Table. It went well, despite all of my screw ups.
Filming went well, though we had a smaller crew this time around.
Provided with a water bottle, I walked to the bus and only had to wait six odd minutes before catching the first bus. I had to wait a good deal longer for the second, but still, I made it home before three.
I managed to take a short nap before getting started on the video editing I had to do yesterday. It took a long, long time to edit and export the videos I needed. I finished at roughly midnight, had a shower and collapsed into bed 'round about 1:00am. That might not seem late to you folks, but I try to be in bed by 11:30pm at the latest. One o'clock in the morning was too late for me.
Perhaps I might have taken too much upon myself. Maybe, just maybe, I'm too busy for my own good. But I am loath to relinquish any of my projects. I started them for a reason, and I love them very much.
What I need, and what would be nice, is the means to have someone help me. I think, that should I ever earn enough, I will probably hire someone to do my video editing for me. That would help a substantial amount.
Of course, this seems like quite the pipe dream at present. My YouTube channel can't possibly support hiring anyone. In fact, in terms of man-hours, I would be losing a substantial sum if I actually paid myself a living wage... or any wage, let alone my awesome volunteers.
THANK YOU AWESOME VOLUNTEERS! I honestly hope I'll be able to make it up to you one day.
I suppose I should have started YouTube five odd years ago, if I wanted to be successful at it. That seems to be the trick. Alas, like most things, I am well behind the ball.
But... but I just love it so much. It's fun to talk about nerdy things with friends. It's fun getting together over awesome JenEric brand coffee (seriously, their coffee is delicious!) and chatting about books and films. It's fun to game (poorly) and laugh at myself with friends. Le sigh.
Sometimes it just seems I working really hard for nothing. It can be a little disheartening, when the things you love and hoped would at least support themselves don't take off. Really the only thing you can do is plough ahead.
So, despite all the work it takes, I'll keep doing it.
I may end up regretting that decision. Or maybe not. Who knows? For now, I must continue on with my painting project. Then on to my writing project...
Ciao!
