This is, in my opinion, one of those cases.
A Song That is a Cover by Another Artist
Look, this is hands down one of the best covers ever. I will take no further questions on the subject. I love covers in general, just because it's so interesting to see how artist's make something their own. Rarely, though, is the cover better than the original.
This is, in my opinion, one of those cases.

Good morning, Readers!
The Amazing Flatmate was, not all that long ago, away touring with the show We Will Rock You. While she was in Edmonton, she stayed at a hotel that had as their toiletries Mother Earth Essentials Peppermint Sage shampoo, conditioner and lotion.
Last week... two weeks ago... ? Um, who knows. Time is meaningless. Anyway, not long ago, she noted that the same items were on sale from the company, and so, I decided to check it out. The Amazing Flatmate loved those toiletries, so... why not? As an added bonus, I would be supporting a Canadian and indigenous-own company. Even if the toiletries weren't great (I mean, hotel toiletries, ammirite?), I'd be happy about that. So, anyway, they've arrived, and I've been using them for a few days now. Here's what I think. They're pretty good, actually! I'm... impressed. I mean, come on. You know those little hotel things are never really any good. They don't really work. And sometimes they're really rank. Not so here. First, I want to note the fragrance. I adore that it smells herbaceous, and not at all perfume-y. You know that perfume-y smell. The kind that is unmistakably perfume. It kinda burns at the back of the throat. Every item (the liquid soap, the lotion and the hair products) smelled like herbs and not perfume. I appreciate that so very much. That said, while I adore sage, I'm not sure about the peppermint. It's not bad, by any means, I'm just not sure. I think I'd enjoy another combination with sage more? I don't know. I'm not sure about it. The other thing to note, and really the thing I was most worried about, is that they work. The shampoo is great though it doesn't lather like more commercial products, so I feel with my hair, I use a little bit more than I otherwise would. It still works a treat. My hair feels great. Now I don't use conditioner at all, but I decided to give this one a try. It worked like conditioner ought to and I found that it didn't slime up my hair. You know how some conditioners make your hair feel silky smooth while dry, but that's because it feels like they've coated your hair in about a metric tonne of slime while it's wet? I didn't get that with this conditioner. That was nice indeed. What impressed me the most, though, was the body lotion. I have stupid dry skin, particularly on my lower legs. I often have to resort to some pretty heavy duty cream treatments stop the dreaded lizard skin from appearing. This lotion, though, has worked far better than a lot of the commercial stuff I get at the chemist and while my legs are still a little on the dry side, I've not developed lizard skin, or the terrible dry skin itch. Other hotel toiletries have served to only make it worse, so this really was a welcome surprise. In short, I highly recommend all of these toiletries. The shampoo is great and the lotion is fantastic. Though, I do think I'd like another scent. I note that they have a wild rose lotion, which I think I would love (rose is one of my favourite scents), but it is twice as expensive as the peppermint sage one (or rather, same price for roughly half as much). Still, I think I'd like to give that a try. I also note that they make handmade soaps, and I'm thinking I'd like to give their cedar balsam a try. That sounds like a scent I would really like. If ever I get to return to work, I'll definitely try the cedar balsam soap and wild rose lotion. Anyway, do check them out. They're Canadian. They're indigenous. Best of all, they work. I'm surprised ('cause, you know... hotel toiletries) and impressed. 30 Day Song Challenge - Day 13
a Song You Like From the 70s
I have no idea how the hell anyone could be expected to pick just one song from the 70s. There were so many really good songs. Like, exceptional music. Damn this challenge!
Okay, time to go to work. By which I mean remain seated and do the things I have scheduled for myself. Ciao!
Good morning, Readers!
Remember last week when I mentioned the Renaissance Press online convention? Well, it's all been settled! Things are in place. The panels are set. The schedule is out. It looks awesome!
Do note: the dates have been changed. I am not on any panels, which is probably a good thing, because most of those panels are things I have absolutely no authority to speak on. I do have, though, a reading the Friday night of the convention. 5pm, in fact. Anyway, you can find all the details here. See you there! But first: 30 Day Song Challenge - Day 12
A Song From Your Preteen Years
I. Love. This. Song.
That is all. Ciao!
Good morning, Readers!
I believe it's Monday, but that day is quite meaningless at present.
I slept in today, getting out of bed some time well past 10:00am. I took my time making breakfast, and eating it. All manner of urgency has left my life. Time has no meaning currently. That's not to say that it doesn't inexorably march onwards, heedless of whether we mark its passing or not. I still have things on my to-do list. I am trying, albeit it with varied success depending on the day, to continue my life as if things will eventually get better. I'm trying to write in the hopes that my practice and patience will one day pay off, and my writing will support me. I'm trying to practice the guitar, in the hopes that I'll one day be able to just play a song and sing whenever I feel like. I am still taking oil painting lessons, though I'm waiting for better, warmer weather so I can paint outside. I may have bought the less noxious of the available paint thinners, but it still requires more ventilation than our current weather permits. I'm still learning French on Duolingo, hoping that I'll be able to better communicate with my dad's family. I'm still trying to create of myself a better, more well-rounded person, trying to find the things that fill me with joy and pursue them, still trying to improve. Even while it feels entirely meaningless, or strange, or even if I'm unbearable stressed about the future. Monday is a meaningless day currently, but I'm here, at my computer - late, but at it - to try and wrangle some meaning from today. Maybe I'll get it all done; my French lesson, my guitar practice, a workout, my own writing, and editing for a friend. We'll see. For now, though, it's enough to try. 30 Day Song Challenge - Day 11
A Song You Never Get Tired Of
This is just one of many, many songs I constantly play. I don't tire of music easily.
Right, I have to go. Ciao!
A Song That Makes You Feel Sad
I have a lot of these, but his was one that I've not listened to in a long time, and it gave me feels listening to it again. It hits a bit close, you know?
A Song That Makes You Feel Happy
I mean, it's just so... bouncy.
A Song About Drugs or Alcohol
This was a close contender for the song that makes you dance. I love this song. It's a song about getting absolutely plastered... so... close enough to the prompt, I reckon.
