Last night, the impossible happened.
Last night, Alberta went to the polls to elect their government.
Last night, they elected a brand new government. Not just any government. No. They elected the NDP - the New Democratic Party.
For those of you who fail to recognise the significance of this, let me explain. Alberta is kind of like Canada's Texas. It's conservative cattle country. It always has been conservative. The Progressive Conservative (please excuse me while I laugh - there is nothing progressive about these conservatives) Party has reigned supreme in that province for four decades.
Four. Decades.
Until last night. Last night, the province went nuclear and voted left. Very left. Much more left than the Liberal Party. Like, my kind of left... and I'm very left.
Here are the unofficial results:
I'm astounded. I did not think this was possible. I'm... so happy!
Unfortunately, the Wild Rose Party is the official opposition, but it's still amazing news. It's a bizarre world, people. Very bizarre.
I guess the impossible actually is possible.
Well, on that note, I'm off to edit Human for the final time. I'm so excited about it's release!
Ciao!
