So... Funny story... I broke my foot during training last night.
It's actually not funny at all. It was the perfect cap to a very difficult day (my mood has improved a little bit. Sort of. Thanks for asking). It happened during my pre-training weight session. I felt the break happen during a dismount from the chin-up bar... after a very unsuccessful attempt at chin-ups. It was a sharp twinge sort of sensation; nothing like the brutal pain I imagined happening when a bone breaks. Maybe that's because it is a small bone? Anyway, walking over to the next work out station, it felt like I had developed a sudden blister on the bottom of my foot. I hadn't. That was the fluids rushing to the area. Swelling. Yay! I knew something was off, but I didn't think it was broken.
Until I saw the bruise that had developed at the end of the night.
Even now, there is only a dull ache in the area, and I'm walking fine. I even walked to work with no difficulty (though I did go a little slower today to play it safe). I'm having some serious indecision now, though. I want to do right by my body, so I'm thinking that maybe going to training mightn't be such a good idea. Then again, there is very little pain, and none at all when I actually use my foot. And skipping training does terrible things to my mood. I think I'll go tonight, but skip the running. If there is pain, I'll stop. In the meantime, I think I might give my doctor a call and see what she thinks.
In writing news, I have finally finished Beta Reading for both authors. Both stories were great, and I'm super thrilled to have been lucky enough to read them. You would think this would buy me more writing time for Daughters of Britain. Alas, no. I have to fix up the Your Very Own Adventure project and get that ready for publication for charity. So, I shall be using the time I would normally be Beta Reading to do that. Hopefully I can have it fixed up and sent out to Beta Readers in a month and a half... or so... I hope. So, alas, Daughters of Britain will continue to be slow for a while yet. Still, I've passed the half way mark some time ago, so I know I'm going at a relatively good clip all the same.
My schedule has, therefore, not changed much at all.
There is not much else to report, but I did want to point you to THIS article about the Skyrim mod community. I might have cried a little. Gamers have been getting a bad rap of late - not unjustly, I might add - but sometimes they pull together and prove their humanity. This is one such story.
Right, I'm running behind and have a tonne of work to do. I should go do it.
Ciao!
