Friday night, I went to my friend Dan's place to play-test a new module for a game he's developing. It's a fantastic role-playing light kind of game that uses cards rather than rolling a dice and it is so much fun! I cannot wait until the game is published. I hope to be playing it on YouTube when it is published. It was genuinely a super fun game, and I had a great time playing it. We lost, by the by, but it was still heaps fun.
If this sounds like a game you'd be in to, go like it on Facebook to keep abreast of all the news.
There might be a character I helped design. That's exciting.
I also learnt Friday night that there will be a replacement for the now defunct Osgoode Medieval Festival. I might have volunteered to do security based purely on the fact that I desperately want to wander around the festival wearing a leather breastplate.
Saturday was fantastic as well. I got a bit of a sleep in, as I wasn't headed to the gym at stupid o'clock in the morning, as I do during the week. Then I taught my women's martial arts classes for four hours, did a wee bit of shopping before heading home, and managed a little nap before heading out to my kung fu school's Christmas party. I took the Amazing Flatmate as my date. It was genuinely fantastic. We have a crazy talented bunch of people, who are also fun and funny. I really enjoyed the dinner. There was an opportunity to head out after, and though I wouldn't have minded going, I was too tired to manage it. We headed home, but others went out more. Maybe next year.
Sunday, I slept. A lot. I awoke at a reasonable time in the morning, decided to have a lie in and catch up on my YouTube subscriptions. Turns out, I was not ready to be awake. I'd start a video, then fall asleep. Then I'd wake up again, to find that the video had played, started a new video, and fell asleep again. It went on like this until, like, 1:30pm, at which point, it was decided that breakfast was in order. I headed out for the latest brunch on the face of the planet with the flatmate before we bought this year's Xmas tree. We spent the evening doing up the tree, drinking eggnog, and watching Christmas movies, starting with A Muppet's Christmas Carol. It was such a lovely evening.
I went to bed at my usual time, and managed to be very awake for this morning's gym session. Best part about this morning's gym session is that the squat bar was free and I could do some heavier weights. Now that's out of the way, I can spend my other sessions doing free weights, and don't have to stress about getting the heavier stuff in during the week.
Due to the weekend being so wonderful, I am in a fantastic mood. Hopefully this will carry through the rest of the week. I'm genuinely looking forward to this week.
Right, I have to go now and get on with writing.
Ciao!
