Unlucky.
I am now in the process of searching for a new cover artist/artwork because I'm fairly certain I won't be able to get in contact with her again. I'm looking at pre-mades at the moment, as they tend to be less expensive. This book is for charity, so I don't want to spend too much money putting the thing together.
My interior designer, Eric, has suggested that the tone of the book lends itself well on doing a riff on the old school choose your own adventure books. Considering the manner in which the book was written, it's a very tempting idea.
I'm mulling it over.
I have found a couple of covers that might do, but they're a good deal darker and not as magical as the one I had originally picked. I'm not sure dark is the way I want to go with this book cover. This is not The Great Man series.
Unlucky.
I've plenty of time, though, as I was planning for this one to launch as next year's regular Hallowe'en release. So, much of the rest of today will be spent trying to locate a book cover, or book cover artist whose stuff I like enough to approach, to see what can be done about my current predicament.
Maybe something perfect will show up. Maybe I'll paint something. Who knows?
On that note, I really have to get going. There is so much work to do. And by work, I mean researching possible book covers.
Le sigh.
Ciao!
