So... I went to a concert last night. A Def Leppard concert, to be exact.
Yup.
They still really kick it on stage.
It was an amazing time.
I'm not going to relive the whole concert here for you. You'll just have to find tickets to a venue closest to you on their tour route. I will say, however, shirts came off. Not mine! I have *some* dignity. I screamed a lot. And I'm now deaf (not literally. It was very loud, is what I'm trying to say).
I massive thanks to J.K., who organised the whole thing and was an awesome host to boot. And to C.S., with whom I had a great couple of laughs... When we could hear each other.
Okay, now with the writing news. I think I should give my readers an exclusive. It's not fair that people who are going to ComicCon should get the first look at the finished (well, "finished") blurb for Human. That should go to the awesome folk who regularly follow this blog, despite all my silliness. So, without further ado, this is the blurb:
At the behest of the vampiric Shadow Council, Aleksandar Svetoslav, Prince of his House, moves to America to re-establish their foothold there. It was a territory lost when opportunistic vampire hunters laid waste to the hedonistic House Üstrel. He did not expect to find the assets of House Üstrel in such shambles.
Nor did he expect that this tedious mission would lead to the beautiful police officer Alicia Wilde, who resurrects feelings in him that he had long thought dead. He certainly did not anticipate her partner, Detective Stephen Brody, who not only knows what Aleksandar is but has vowed revenge on all his kind.
Things spiral quickly out of control as Aleksandar is drawn into a cat and mouse game with a deranged kidnapper targeting those closest to him. Betrayal draws Aleksandar and Detective Brody together in a frantic battle to save Alicia and the city from a true monster.
Which might not be saying much, because what I had was utter crap.
Any way, what do you think? Would you read the book based on the blurb?
Today will be spent going through Beta Reader Three's comment... which I only just remembered I had now, and fixing up the manuscript. Then it needs to be formatted for eBook and paperback. The last piece of the puzzle will be the book cover. I'm super excited to see it... and share it.
I'll let you know when I see it, though eNewsletter subscribers will be the first to see the finished cover.
I also have to come up with a price point. I'm thinking the same as the books in The Seraphimé Saga.
Right, there is a lot of work that I need to be doing right now. I should go do it.
Ciao!
