Despite having to take Tuesday off from life and wait for the workmen to arrive, I still managed to hit my goal of eight thousand words a week on the new story, making my the total word count sixteen thousand now. Adding an extra thousand words to my goals for Wendesday and Thursday (and then hitting those targets) seemed to do the trick.
I also wrote the next section of the most recent Your Very Own Adventure story, Skara Braens. I'll be honest, I was hoping for another tie. The writing side of my brain was exhausted, and it took me most of Friday to write those thousand words.
When it came time to write a thousand words for Soldier, I just couldn't. There was no juice left. I opened the document, and then stared at it blankly. Had this been a video, you would hear crickets chirping. My brain could not even make my fingers move over the keyboard. There was literally nothing left.
So, though I did alright in writing, I'm annoyed that I didn't get any writing on Soldier done. I have extra work after writing to do today, so I won't be able to catch up today. I'm thinking of adding a thousand word sprint at after I get my daily two thousand words for the other story tomorrow. I just hope that doing so won't destroy my brain again, like it did last week.
Speaking of the other story, I had been working with the title Avalon: Volume One, but then decided that it needed a better title. I settled on Outworlder and was really liking that. That is until I realised that it was a little too close to the historical fiction series Outlander.
So now I'm torn. I will be keeping it for now, but any suggestions are more than welcome. Outworlder is just a working title for now. Who knows? Perhaps I'll end up really liking it again and I'll just go with it.
On that note, I must go write.
Ciao!
