I didn't write yesterday, but it wasn't all bad. I got my video editing done and now my highlight reel for my latest Uncharted 4 Let's Play all done. It's uploading as we speak. It'll be on Twitch before YouTube, though. Twitch gets it today, and YouTube tomorrow.
There are a couple of other news items I wanted to share, despite the title of today's post. The first is that I have once again accepted a contract with the University of Ottawa to help mark for the course on the Celtic Iron Age.
CELTIC ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORY?! SAY IT ISN'T SO!
Anyway, with the extra funds coming in from that job, I have decided to send off a manuscript to an actual professional editor. I asked said editor to hack it to pieces with a chainsaw if necessary. I love this story, and I want it to be as good as it can be. I did write it something like four years ago at this point. I've been trying to shop it for a while.
It will be sent to publishers once the editing is done and failing that, I will publish it myself. The world will get it one way or another!
And I get to help a small business owner with her business, so it's all win, really.
For the record, editing does not come cheaply, and nor should it. It's a tonne of work and it should be fairly compensated. I am not wealthy, and luckily the rate I was quoted is within my means... and also I can pay in instalments, so that's a huge plus.
And that's all my new news. One day I hope to have really exciting news, but until then, you'll all subject to the inanity that is the reality of a writer's life.
It's not rainbows and candy floss.
And now I have work to do.
Ciao!
